La
Leche League of Charleston is part of La Leche League International, an
international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing
support, encouragement, information, and education to women who choose to
breastfeed.
La
Leche League of Charleston offers support and information through:
- Online
Mother to Mother support group (on fb)
- Scheduled
South Carolina or Charleston Conference Calls
- FREE monthly
meetings / gatherings (see below!)
- Telephone
help from experienced leaders (call us for free!)
- Lending
library with books on childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting and related
subjects (depending on which location and may depend on membership)
- Local
Leaders Evaluation and Planning meetings 4 times yearly
- Statewide education conferences (one coming up this June!)
La Leche League of Charleston/Mt. Pleasant meets on the FIRST Friday of each
month at 10:15 AM at St. Andrew's Church at
440 Whilden Street, Mt. Pleasant.
Moms, Moms to be, female friends, BABIES and
children welcome.

A La Leche League Leader is a mother who has had a specific type of breastfeeding and parenting experience, meets the prerequisites for Leadership, completed specific reading and introspection and has finished the extensive written training curriculum established by LLLI.
