La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding, They are available by phone and/or email whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns. Only accredited Leaders are authorized to represent and/or speak for La Leche League International

La Leche League of South Carolina

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend the monthly Group Meetings or call a Leader for breastfeeding help. Only accredited La Leche League Leaders are authorized to represent and/or speak for La Leche League International.

We are teaming up with Mellow and Play Cafe this year for our annual celebration of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month! Bring the whole family and join us anytime from 3pm-7pm for fun, breastfeeding and community info, swag bags and a raffle! Mellow and Play Cafe is graciously offering a discount for the kids to play on their inflatible fun! Each child is only $5 when you tell them you are there supporting Live, Love, Latch and La Leche League! (You can stop by for info and swag bags for free. Charge is just for kids playing in the play area.) Raffle tickets will be sold on site and items will be posted here as we get them in! All money from raffle sales will go to LLL of Charleston and LLL of Summerville. More info to come! Please share this event with your friends and family!

Live, Love, Latch! events are designed to not only celebrate breastfeeding, but to also highlight community support. All in attendance at a Live, Love, Latch! event will be counted as participants, who declare their support of breastfeeding in their local community and beyond.

Also, as an added goal, we will aim to break the previous year's record for number of breastfeeding supporters who came out in a show of support. Any one who attends will be counted - whether breastfeeding or not.

This celebration provides an opportunity to educate family, friends, healthcare providers and other community members about how they can support breastfeeding, and also emphasizes the value of the support network behind every nursing dyad.
