Books on Breastfeeding for Pregnant or New Moms
We seem to be getting a lot of emails and phone calls from pregnant or new moms who are looking for basic information on breastfeeding. A little knowledge goes a long way...information will help you make the right choice for your family.
Some moms find themselves reading many pregnancy books or birth books and not realizing they may not find the time to read when the baby or babies arrive. Think of it this way...you will be pregnant for 9 months and a parent the rest of your life. :)
Here are some of our favorites:
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding 8th Edition by LLLI
Breastfeeding Made Simple: Seven Natural Laws for Nursing Mothers by Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, Nancy Mohrbacher, and Jack Newman
The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers: The Most Comprehensive Problem-Solving Guide to Breastfeeding by Jack Newman and Teresa Pitman
The Breastfeeding Mother's Guide to Making More Milk by Diana West and Lisa Marasco
Nursing Mother, Working Mother: The Essential Guide for Breastfeeding and Staying Close to Your Baby After You Return to Work by Gale Pryor
Mothering Multiples: Breastfeeding and Caring for Twins or More by Karen Kerkhoff Gromada
There are many others out there - some with good research and some full of one person's opinion. Some are good for special circumstances. We can recommend further reading when you come to a meeting or contact us. Enjoy and happy reading!
