There are two meetings in December for La Leche League of Charleston, SC.
All meetings are free and any woman interested in breastfeeding is welcome. We welcome pregnant, breastfeeding and pumping mothers and their children.
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone or email whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.

November Gatherings
The holidays are approaching and we know there are several breastfeeding obstacles that pop-up during this busy time. Come talk with other moms about getting through the challenges of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and the New Year while maintaining your breastfeeding relationship.

August and September Highlights
La Leche League of Charleston, SC Meetings are always free.
Moms and moms-to-be are welcome to attend along with their children, friends, grandmothers and so on. We also welcome nursing students, doulas, midwives, and any woman coming to educate and inform herself.
Memberships are offered but not pushed.
We love to have moms come with friends and always try to make sure questions are covered.
We like to say at LLL meetings that we are like a buffet...choose from the round table discussions the things you feel will work for your family and leave the rest.

There is plenty of parking below the library, free for first hour and a dollar an hour there after. You will pay at front desk, and receive a parking garage code to exit.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help with counting and/or to be witness, so even if you are finished breastfeeding and want to help please let us know.

Celebration and Potluck Thanks!
The Leaders of La Leche League of Charleston would like to thank everyone who came out on Saturday. We had such a nice gathering of family and friends and children! We were also able to make the money needed for paying all our bills and buying new supplies and informational sheets. The food was delicious and everyone had a lot of fun! We just want to make sure everyone got the word that we have changed our family celebration potluck and fundraiser to MAY 19th and not April 21.
We found that there were several things going on for families with this being Earth Day weekend.
We will send out a new invitation asap for the May 19th fun.
We are sorry for any confusion. There have been some delays with rescheduling that are beyond our control.

Charleston Breastfeeding Celebration!
The La Leche League Leaders of Charleston, SC would like to invite all our moms and families (past and present) to join us at a family potluck and fundraiser.
This event date has been changed to MAY 19.
Will add location and time asap.
This Family Picnic/ Potluck is a celebration and time to relax and socialize.
It is also a much needed fundraiser for the group to buy updated books and supplies. The donations we are able to gain from this event will benefits La Leche League at all levels, with most of the money staying with our local group and community.
We look forward to seeing you then! We are so excited to have this on our calendar! We want moms, dads, partners, grandparents, friends and of course, lots of children and babies to know they are welcome to attend. Please bring a dish to share with others and some cash to bid on auction items.
We are a nonsectarian organization who does not affiliate with any religion but the church has offered the space to us for a small donation so that we are able to utilize their space outdoors and also in inclement weather.

Guidelines for Meetings
La Leche League of Charleston SC Meeting Guidelines:
La Leche League believes Mothers know their children best. There is no “La Leche League way”, only what works for your family. Attending an LLL meeting and seeing other mothers breastfeed their babies helps new and expectant mothers learn how to nurture their babies too. During meetings, LLL Leaders share their knowledge of breastfeeding, encourages others to share their experiences and helps clarify the La Leche League philosophy of mothering through breastfeeding.
Meetings are always free. We encourage membership but do not expect any new mom to join to come to meetings.
Any woman interested in learning about breastfeeding (students, nurses, birth class instructors, etc.) are welcome. Women are encouraged to begin attending meetings as soon as they know they are pregnant.
Children: Meeting children’s needs is a priority we all understand. If you are bringing multiple children, please consider bringing a few quite items for them to play with but also remind them they may have toddlers wanting to “share” their toys so you may not want to bring their favorite ones.
Illness: if you or your child have had fever, vomiting/diarrhea or severe cough in the past 24 hours, please join us for the next meeting. If you need immediate help, please call a Leader to speak over the phone or consider hiring an IBCLC to come to you.
Food: Allergies and intolerances are a real issue for our families. Any food brought in for your child or yourself may only be shared if it is handed to the mother to give to her own child. If any food you bring falls on the floor, please promptly attend to it so that we can avoid allergy or choking hazards.
LLL meetings are ideal for learning from and making friends with other mothers. Thank you for respecting these guidelines. They are for the protection and concern for all our members, especially our newest ones. We're looking forward to seeing you and your baby at a Group meeting!
